“Sunset by Paraskevas” Tavern
At the “Sunset by Paraskevas” Tavern, your experience begins the moment you descend the scenic steps to the picturesque Ammoudi Bay. This iconic restaurant is renowned for its stunning sunsets, the best seafood on the island, and celebrity clientele, offering a front-row seat to one of nature’s most spectacular shows. We found ourselves mesmerized by the panoramic views, with the sun casting a golden glow over the azure waters.
The menu here is a celebration of fresh seafood and traditional Greek cuisine. We indulged in a variety of dishes, starting with the signature sun-dried octopus, perfectly tender and drizzled with olive oil and lemon. The highlight of our meal was the lobster and catch of the day, grilled to perfection and served with a side of fresh, local vegetables. Each bite was a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality and flavor.
The ambiance is relaxed yet sophisticated, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or a leisurely lunch. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the dining experience with their recommendations and friendly service. “Sunset by Paraskevas” Tavern offers not just a spectacular seafood dinner, but a memorable experience that captures the essence of Santorini’s charm. Lycabettus Restaurant
Perched on the edge of a cliff in Oia, Lycabettus Restaurant offers one of the most breathtaking dining experiences in Santorini. As we approached the restaurant, the view of the caldera took our breath away, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. The restaurant’s terrace, seemingly suspended over the Aegean Sea, provides an intimate and exclusive setting for diners.
Our culinary journey at Lycabettus began with a glass of Santorini’s famous Assyrtiko wine, perfectly chilled and crisp. The menu is a fusion of Mediterranean and international flavors, each dish meticulously crafted and beautifully presented. We started with the sea urchin salad, a refreshing and delicate appetizer that showcased the chef’s creativity and skill. The main course was a symphony of flavors: slow-cooked lamb with a herb crust, served with a velvety potato purée and seasonal vegetables. The lamb was succulent and flavorful, a true highlight of the evening.

The menu at Forty One 41 is a delightful blend of Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We loved the selection of appetizers on the menu, especially the crispy calamari and the sashimi selection. Mama’s Restaurant
Mama’s Restaurant, located in the heart of Fira, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. As we entered, we were greeted by the friendly staff and the comforting aroma of traditional Greek cooking. The cozy interior, adorned with local artwork and rustic decor, sets the stage for a heartwarming dining experience.
The menu at Mama’s Restaurant is a celebration of traditional Greek cuisine, with recipes passed down through generations. We definitely recommend starting with a classic Greek or Santorini salad (a local version of Greek salad with locally-grown ingredients and cherry tomatoes), followed by the moussaka for the main course, a hearty and flavorful dish layered with eggplant, minced meat, and a creamy béchamel sauce. Each bite here is rich and satisfying, a true testament to the restaurant’s commitment to authentic flavors. Don’t forget to also try the souvlaki, tender and juicy, served with a side of homemade tzatziki and warm pita bread.
The combination of delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere makes Mama’s Restaurant a must-visit spot for those seeking an authentic taste of local Santorinian cuisine.
