Colour is never simply what the eye sees. It is light transformed, captured and given a new identity. This November, Boghossian invites collectors to experience that phenomenon through the meeting of two artistic disciplines: high jewellery and painting.
Making its debut at NOMAD Abu Dhabi from 18 to 22 November 2026, the Maison joins forces with Ars Belga to present Light into Colour, an exhibition that explores the shared fascination of jewellers and painters with the expressive power of light. Now in its second Abu Dhabi edition, NOMAD has established itself as a destination for collectible design and art, bringing together collectors, curators and cultural figures in exceptional settings around the world.

At the heart of the presentation lies a deceptively simple idea: colour is light held still. Within a gemstone, white light enters a crystal and emerges transformed. Copper gives Paraíba tourmaline its extraordinary electric blue-green; chromium lends emerald its unmistakable green and ruby its vivid red, while iron produces yellow hues. Nature, in this sense, becomes an artist in its own right, creating colour through the intricate chemistry of minerals.
Painting approaches the same mystery through an entirely different medium. The works presented alongside Boghossian’s creations trace distinct interpretations of colour, from Piero Dorazio’s vibrating compositions, where layers of pigment create an almost shimmering effect, to Charles Pollock’s expansive fields of colour, which seem to radiate from within. Salvo captures the changing character of landscapes across the hours of the day, while Lorenzato gives paint a sculptural dimension, building surfaces that rise into relief.

The dialogue between these artists and high jewellery is not merely aesthetic. Both disciplines demand an understanding of how light interacts with material, how colour shifts with perspective and how a carefully composed surface can evoke emotion.

Boghossian’s Kissing ring, featuring diamonds and mint tourmaline, offers a particularly evocative expression of this relationship. Its delicate interplay of luminosity and colour reflects the exhibition’s central idea: beauty often emerges not from colour alone, but from the light that animates it.
At NOMAD Abu Dhabi, jewellery becomes more than an object of adornment. It becomes a study in perception — and a reminder that, in the hands of an artist, light itself can become a masterpiece.
