Some of fashion’s most compelling moments happen when two distinct creative worlds find a common rhythm. The latest collaboration between GANNI and lululemon is a case in point, bringing together the Danish label’s playful Scandi aesthetic and the Canadian brand’s expertise in technical apparel.
Inspired by the spirit of 1980s dance films, the 22-piece collection celebrates movement as a form of self-expression. Think familiar athletic silhouettes reimagined through GANNI’s distinctive lens: leopard print, unexpected colour combinations and playful ruffles meet the clean lines and considered functionality of lululemon’s designs.

Among the highlights are reworked favourites such as the Define Jacket, alongside dance-inspired accessories including leg warmers, boleros and headbands. Technical fabrics, including lululemon’s Nulu™ and Softstreme™, bring softness, breathability and freedom of movement to pieces designed to move effortlessly between studio sessions and everyday life.
For GANNI Creative Director Ditte Reffstrup, the inspiration is deeply personal. Having grown up watching 1980s dance films, she was drawn to their energy, determination and sense of liberation. The collection translates that nostalgia into a contemporary wardrobe, balancing retro references with a distinctly modern attitude.

At the heart of the collaboration is a shared belief in movement as a powerful form of expression. This idea also informs the accompanying JOY IS A POWER MOVE campaign, featuring actor Jennifer Beals and singer and dancer METTE. Set in a dance studio, its film moves between rehearsal and performance, capturing the emotional intensity of dance while giving it a fresh, contemporary edge.
For the UAE, the collection arrives exclusively at lululemon’s Dubai Mall store on October 15th. More than an exercise in athleisure, GANNI x lululemon is an invitation to approach getting dressed with a little more energy, individuality and joy.
