Mario set the bar really high as a fine jewelry designer in Italy, lucky him almost his complete family devoted their lives into preserving his work after he passed away. The Buccellati family claims that tradition is about keeping the fire alive and not just worshipping the ashes, which is shown throughout the work done until the present day. Going from high jewelry to silverware, bridal collections, and watches, each design is expressed by contemporary designs handcrafted with the most delicate techniques and a recognizable style. Every pair of hands handcrafting for Buccellati have gone through a lifetime of practice and training to reach the excellence and sophistication required by the company.
The Art Collection is the result of the hard work Lucrezia and Andrea did, a splendid collection of five pieces each of them inspired by different paintings from Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. Larionov, Monet, Bonnard, Redon, and Homer have been honored for being inspirations for the pieces in the collection. Each divine painting served as an inspiration for the complete collection that will remain until the end of the day. Buccellati has a specialty when creating timeless beauties and this collection proves it to be true once again.
Light Blue Sea at Prout’s Neck
Inspired by Winslow Homer and his masterpiece “Light Blue Sea at Prout’s Neck”, the collection presents this white gold bracelet, handcrafted with one of the most complex techniques in high jewelry, tulle. This technique leaves the gold threads imitating a soft movement just like waves. To enhance this vision of the ocean and water motion the bracelet is completely set with sparkling and flawless diamonds all over it. The bracelet portrays the power and charm of the ocean bears.
Spider’s Web
The Spider’s Web is the second piece presented in the collection, representing the technique used by Buccellati, the honeycomb. One of the most renowned and delicate techniques the company has perfectly portrayed is an interpretation of Mikhail Larionov’s “Spider’s Web”. This alluring ring composed of white and yellow gold with a mesmerizing diamond in the center holds the name of Buccellati really high, representing one of their finest art pieces.
Storm on the Coast of Belle-Ille
The Art Collection prides itself on a set of earrings inspired by Claude Monet and his masterpiece. The combination of colors in the painting between teal, white and gray is captured by the honeycomb technique Buccellati handcrafters used. Custom made with white gold and tourmaline pieces these pendants summarize such strength and power Monet portrayed in his art. “Two Vases of Flowers”, an exquisite painting by Pierre Bonnard created over the 20s was the inspiration for the pendant in The Art collection.
