Copenhagen is aiming to be the smartest and happiest city in the world, many eyes are facing it while conscious tourism broadens. While looking for a place to stay and disconnect I found the Villa Copenhagen hotel, a historical treasure located in the former postal office. The remodelation of the building was carefully designed to combine the original nordic infrastructure with a captivating modern style that brings blissfulness and vibrancy to the eyes. The hotel expresses the importance they give not only to comfort and historical value but also to the social responsibility we all have to the environment.
All of my senses were enriched when I had the opportunity to visit the Villa Copenhagen hotel, the unique and detailed work present in all of their facilities left me with an unbeatable experience as a guest. While looking for places to stay in Copenhagen I was recommended to stay here and let me tell you I am very happy about that decision!
There is a range of five different room types available, going from standard to family size, each of them carefully planned to suit different needs of guests and provide the most pleasant stay. Losing oneself in one of the Villa’s rooms is a high pleasure mixed with coziness and opulence, the bright decoration in each of them provides a sense of peace and blissfulness. A major personal highlight I found overnight was the amazing shower head and fluffy pillows, these are a big thing for me when it comes to hospitality. I’d have to admit that my favorite thing about the hotel is how they understand that our comfort is as important as our four-legged friends, this is why they provide their own private bed for them and special treats so we can all enjoy our stay.
The experience fostered by the hotel encourages the enhancement of a conscious and luxurious lifestyle, meaning being able to enjoy what life gives while integrating appreciation for life and taking into account the results of our actions toward society and the environment. The values of the manifesto are perfectly aligned with what the city of Copenhagen is tiring to reach for future generations, zero carbon emissions and reducing the environmental footprint as much as possible.
Social responsibility not only comes through environmental terms but also with respect to human rights and the right opportunities given by employees. The best way to ensure great treatment to guests is by treating workers in the best way possible, and it is seen that Villa Copenhagen has strong values regarding staff treatment and their own satisfaction in the workspace. The high level of motivation and leadership the staff receives are well portrayed by the treatment and service they give to guests, my team and I had the best service.
Anyone visiting the hotel should dine and drink at the bars and restaurants they offer; Courtyard Bar, Kontrast, T37, and Rug. These four different restaurants, without counting the hotel’s breakfast, deliver an amazing and delicate range of meals, drinks, coffees, and even local original quality delicates. Not only the service and cuisine experiences are good, but each of them has an incredible and well-planned design. For example, the Courtyard Bar counts with an incredible huge ceiling glass that gives the whole space natural light and high vibrancy of colors.
As a person who enjoys international cuisines, I highly recommend visiting Kontrast, where I had the chance to try different dishes with a high contrast of flavors and ingredients that are grown locally and sustainably with no chemicals or pesticides. The musses are a personal favorite which I must to talk about, the white wine sauce and pak choi created an incredible combination that can only be served at Kontrast. The restaurant prides itself on the dessert options, having the Creme Chiboust is a must-try!
Last but not least, comes the amazing heated pool overlooking the old city of Copenhagen. The access to an outdoor heated pool and the most distinct sauna creates the best choice for a break from a busy day and an opportunity to unwind from external factors. Keeping the pool breaks private, it is mandatory to book appointments to enjoy it with privacy and silence, having in mind that there are certain hours allowed for children. The environment to enjoy at Villa Copenhagen is something that can not be found anywhere else in the city.
Social movements are taking over the world, and it’s nice to see that all industries are playing their role in taking care of us as a society and as a whole community sharing this planet. Staying at Villa Copenhagen has been a joyful experience for me, living the encounter between luxury and consciousness while relaxing and unwinding from the rest of the world. The hotel has an amazing historical value due to the place where it’s located plus an architectural charm only found here.
