Parisian native Lydia Courteille graduated in biochemistry, but her passion for antiques and gemology made her the avant-garde designer she is today. She started creating a brand in 1987 where she dedicated herself entirely to antique jewelry, discovering incredible antiques and selling them, reaching more than 7000 pieces sold. In 1998 she achieved a big step in her career, taking advantage of her travels, thirst for knowledge, and experience to create her designs. She is one of today’s most original jewelry designers, with a unique catalog full of wonders whose inspiration always hides a piece of her love for ancient cultures. Her more than 50 collections of her own style will leave you speechless with its beauty, rare stones, and magical aura.

Lydia Courteille is a free spirit, and her audacity knows no bounds; provocation is never far from her extraordinary imagination. She draws on mysterious symbols, the archeology of the distant past, and flora and fauna to create a fascinating mix. Her jewels will make you shine for their unique spirit and their nobility turned into pieces of art. Her collections invite us to enter a world of universal wonders through the magic mirror of the artist’s gaze.

‘Indian song’ is one of Lydia Courteille’s most special collections, its explosion of Indian-inspired color makes her masterpieces a part of history and a journey to Indian festivals and traditions, inspired by many different themes such as architecture or cosmology.

This beautiful necklace is dedicated to the iconic Indian monument, the Taj Mahal, erected by Shah Jehan, the Mughal emperor, in memory of the deceased wife. With 270 emeralds of 175 carats, 440 sapphires, 148 rubies, and other unique stones, the designer turns a piece of India into an exclusive jewel. This jewel is representing Mughal architecture that combines Islamic, Ottoman, Indian, and Persian architectural influences.

Her collections could not miss a tribute to her hometown, Paris, the symbol of glamour and love. Parisian women are known for their characteristic personalities, their great sex appeal, their excellent taste, and for being passionate. The collection ‘La vie en Rose’ turns Parisian seduction into high jewelry. With rose gold combined with her precious gemstones, the artist creates very feminine pieces. These earrings are a clear tribute to the Parisian icon, the Eiffel Tower, but they are also corsets that run through the center of the chandelier earrings, ending in black bows and pink morganite drops. Its contrast of black diamonds and powdered pink morganite, and the effect of the black lace on the pale pink color combine tradition with sensuality, making a nice tribute to the place where her entire career began.

During a trip to Central America, Lydia Courteille discovered more about the Mayan civilization in the place where most of their temples are located. Around these millenary ruins and folk art, Lydia Courteille has created an exuberant collection full of color, fantasy, and folk references, which served as inspiration for her ” Nuevo Mundo ” collection that is based on the tradition of almost 1000 years before the Christian era. Inspired by the incredible history of the temples and pyramids buried under the lush jungle, their deep blends of religions, beliefs, and magical legends for the design of a multifaceted jewelry collection.

From that inspiration was born this precious tiara, inspired by the crowns and ribbons that women wore to gather their hair or the crowns that nobles wore to differentiate themselves. Its perfectly chosen colors, referring to those used by the Mayans, sparkle with its 19-carat gold structure, 59 brown diamonds, 105 white diamonds, 34 rubies, 199 sapphires, 79 amethysts, 47 tourmalines, and a Maxixe beryl. The combination of these precious stones gives rise to a spectacular tiara that represents a piece of the ancient history.
