Interview with Rony Kikano

Meet CHIC ICON's new Brand Ambassador and MENA region's influencer.

Rony Kikano is a man of ambition. He is an entrepreneur, a family man, social media Influencer and the new Brand Ambassador of CHIC ICON magazine, representing our luxury brand offline and online.

As he continues to make his mark, the business and social media expert is doing so with positivity and elegance. We sat down with Rony to discuss his journey to becoming a successful personality, his advice for start ups and his future plans.

How did you get started with your business and what’s your background?

I have been in the media field for the past 18 years specifically in the print publication.  Being a Commercial Director for the top 2 magazines in the MENA at a very young age “ 21 years old “ has given me the chance to benefit from a fruitful experience that allowed me to build strong and big connections with so many people such as founders/ CEO’s of luxurious brands, celebrities and many more such as Carolina Herrera, Fawaz Gruosi, Aishwaraya Rai and etc etc..

Throughout my journey, and all that I have witnessed in those 18 years, I started to have the urge to do something on my own, and 2016 was the year when I founded Kikano Media.

Kikano Media is mainly a media representative of different advertising tools such as digital, outdoors, in malls and so on in the Mena region. 

What was your motivation for getting started as an entrepreneur?

Ambition, hard work and dedication. All those have met with my experience and made me ready to persuade my dream.

What have been your keys to success?

My will to reach the goal I wanted which is wealth. The Vision of myself being a successful person. And the Mission that I have put all my efforts into to built my own empire, regardless the size of it. 

What are your main business projects now?

Expending regionally from Kuwait to Qatar and UAE with Kikano Media, focusing on the Instagram and snapchat pages as a Family oriented influencer.

How did Rony Kikano find his own voice in the social media space?

In 2015 I surprised my wife with a wedding proposal in Atlantis hotel, Dubai by diving with the sharks and asking her to marry me in a unique way, this short movie “ The Promise “ went viral to more than 20M users and people started to know me and to follow me to know about me and my family news, year after year I realized that my followers are increasing with high engagement on my posts specially when I’m with my wife and daughter, so I started getting private messages from brands and clients asking me to represent their brands in MENA region.

How has social media changed since you first came into the scene? How do you see it evolving?

First it was kind of entertainment, now it became a business necessity and perhaps the main market place. It has good and bad consequences, good in terms of fast turn over, and bad in terms of fake influencers that may not benefit followers and sponsors.

What is a suggestion of Rony Kikano to someone who is starting a new business nowadays?

You have to be genuine and unique because many things have been done already. Never give up since there will be many ups and downs and so many strong competitions! 

And the last one, be consistent and dedicated to your goal.

What are your business plans for the next 5 years?

To expand my business in the MENA region , adding 2 new ideas to my Business which I’m waiting for the right time to launch.
