Unveiled as the second chapter in the Laureato’s 50th anniversary, this limited edition of just 50 pieces is not a nostalgic exercise. Instead, it is a contemporary re-interpretation of history, where the architectural clarity of the Three Bridges, first introduced in 1867, is seamlessly integrated into the unmistakable geometry of the Laureato, launched in 1975.
Housed in a newly refined 41 mm case, the watch introduces a slimmer, more ergonomic Laureato profile, meticulously reworked for visual balance and comfort on the wrist. Its octagonal bezel—now in white gold—features newly defined polished bevels that contrast with satin-brushed surfaces, creating a dynamic play of light that feels distinctly modern yet deeply rooted in the model’s DNA.
At the heart of the watch lies the newly developed Calibre GP9620, a purpose-built automatic tourbillon movement conceived entirely in-house. Structured around three openworked white-gold bridges, the movement aligns the barrel, gear train, and tourbillon on a single axis—a rare technical feat and a visual signature of the Maison. The inverted architecture places elements typically hidden at the back front and centre, transforming the movement into a living mechanical sculpture.
A discreet platinum micro-rotor, positioned behind the barrel, ensures automatic winding without compromising transparency, delivering a power reserve of at least 55 hours. The tourbillon itself, crafted in lightweight titanium with Girard-Perregaux’s signature lyre-shaped cage, anchors the composition with both technical authority and poetic grace.
Finishing elevates the piece into true collector territory. The movement reveals 418 hand-polished bevels, including an astonishing 362 inward angles—a level of craftsmanship few manufacturers can rival. Each calibre is assembled from start to finish by a single master watchmaker, whose discreet signature appears on a small arrow-shaped white-gold plate.
