By mid-July, the glamour of Monaco extends beyond yachts and roulette wheels and into the refined realm of fine art. Monaco Art Week (MAW), now in its seventh edition, will unfold across the Principality from July 7 to 12, 2025, under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Chic Icon as the official media partner. This year’s festivities arrive with a special air of distinction, as H.R.H. Princess Alexandra of Hanover assumes the role of patron—her support echoing Monaco’s deep-rooted commitment to the arts.
Not fair in the traditional sense, Monaco Art Week 2025 is an art walk of royal proportions. It turns Monaco itself into a gallery without walls—an immersive tour winding through the city’s most iconic neighborhoods: Monte-Carlo, Larvotto, and La Condamine. Here, fifteen participating institutions—including blue-chip players like Hauser & Wirth, Sotheby’s, and Christie’s—will host exhibitions that span centuries and styles. Ancient objects, Old Masters, contemporary installations, and collectible fine jewelry all find a place in this curated cultural mosaic.

The week’s events are more than aesthetic pleasures. Expect artist talks, private viewings, and spirited lectures that allow for rare glimpses into the minds behind the canvases and sculptures. Among the returning participants are established names such as Opera Gallery, Almine Rech, and Moretti Fine Art, alongside local stalwarts like Galerie Adriano Ribolzi and Hôtel des Ventes de Monte-Carlo. Together, they promise a program that is both intellectually rich and sensorially generous.
This edition of Monaco Art Week 2025 is further buoyed by a convergence of major cultural moments. Running in parallel is Art Monte-Carlo (July 7–9), the boutique international art fair known for its elegant scale and focus on quality over quantity. Then, on July 11, the Grimaldi Forum will unveil its marquee summer exhibition: “Colours! Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou,” a vibrant and sweeping survey drawn from one of the world’s most iconic collections. Simultaneously, the historical exhibition Monaco and the Napoleons: Intertwined Destinies opens its doors, offering visitors a compelling journey into the Principality’s past.

Behind the scenes, Monaco Art Week 2025 is supported by a circle of loyal sponsors and partners, including EFG Bank (Monaco), Moravia Yachting, and SMT Société Monégasque de Transports. Notably, the international luxury and culture magazine Chic Icon returns as the official media partner, a role it has filled with characteristic flair and editorial insight.
In a world increasingly saturated with digital art fairs and virtual galleries, Monaco Art Week reasserts the enduring power of physical presence—of standing before a canvas, of talking with a curator, of discovering a masterpiece tucked between the sea and the hills. It is, in the Monegasque way, not just about art, but how art is lived.
