Moschino Fall/ Winter 2025 Collection, Tools of the Trade, reimagined the concept of craftsmanship by mixing the rawness of workwear with playful overstates. The runway was under the creative direction of Adrian Appiolaza and became a stage where tailoring met deconstruction and the industrial met the artistic. It was a tribute to Franco Moschino’s legacy, where the irony of his signature was intertwined with modernity.
The collection was based on a mannequin dress, an archival masterpiece that was the representation of the house’s unconventionality in fashion. Dresses that were frozen in the midst of creation, seams that were raw, but became a decorative element, and tailoring that dissolved to flow into fluid draping. The unfinished edge and raw selvage were a subtle, but not subtle enough, ironic and sophisticated branding choice by Moschino’s emblematic wit.

To lend the Moschinofied designs a whimsical touch, four archival floral prints—Grandi Flora, Stapleton Park, Eton Poppy, and Everything Roses—were also ‘collaborated with’ British textile company Sanderson of London. At once these classics were transformed into statement pieces where flowers literally smiled, light bulbs popped and the simple was subverted into something unexpected.
Industrial Inspiration Meets Glamour
Denim, distressed leathers, and exaggerated silhouettes dominated the collection, giving a strong workwear influence. While feminine bows were either overstated or left as mere outlines, the motif of absence and presence was played with. This industrial influence was also present in eveningwear, where dresses made from unusual materials such as paper and trash bags wore an elegant subversion, at Moschino Fall/ Winter 2025 nothing is ever as it seems.

The house continued the tradition of trompe l’oeil humor with oversized tool belts and handbag designs mirroring construction materials as accessories. A nod to the house’s eternal playful vernacular, the signature smiley face and flamenco ruffles made their way into the collection. The show finished with a politically charged statement, which was as timely as it is timeless, in reference to Franco Moschino’s SOS Save Our Sphere to the continued ecological crises.
Conclusion: A Masterful Blend of Irony and Elegance
Moschino Fall/ Winter 2025 show was an exhilarating reminder that the brand can do well to fuse humor, craftsmanship, and social commentary together into a cohesive fashion statement. The collection paid tribute to workwear, vintage motifs, and industrial aesthetics and contained the house’s past, but steered it towards the future – Moschino is a beacon of creativity in the fashion world!
