Knowing we love shoes that are unique and special, we introduce you to our absolute favorite fantasy shoe brands; Sophia Webster, Rene Caovilla, Amina Muaddi, Mach & Mach, and last but not least, Paris Texas. Although these brands can have different styles and aesthetics, we know one important thing they all have in common, is their absolutely impeccable taste.
Our first brand is Sophia Webster who launched her own brand after earning her degree from the London College of Fashion. Being praised for her inspiring and original designs. The designer received the British Fashion Award for “Emerging Accessories Designer” in 2013 and the Conde Nast Footwear “Emerging Designer of the Year” in 2012. Sophia has a background in fine art, and her designs are all about originality. Today, the brand’s instantly recognizable look is made up of a wide selection of shoes in addition to its seasonal bridal, handbag, and mini collections. Sophia has worked with a wide range of companies, such as Puma, Barbie, Coca-Cola, J Crew, Alex Monroe, and her personal shoe idol, Mr. Patrick Cox.
Sophia added two new collections to the lineup for SS20 with an emphasis on making a good difference and reaching a diverse clientele. In January 2020, Sophia unveiled her first “Upcycled” collection, reimagining and utilizing leftover materials from previous collections to make new shoes. The following month, she introduced “Extended Sizes,” which produced a number of her signature designs in sizes up to EU46 (US15.5/UK13). She is the only high-end footwear company to offer this vast size variety. She launched her first capsule in favor of the organization Butterfly Conservation in 2021.
Rene Caovilla, our second pick, is famous for these Swarovski-studded footwear sandals, which can be found in the finissage section of the company’s headquarters and factory in Fiesso D’Artico, Italy, where more than 80 years have passed since the Italian luxury shoe firm began producing shoes. Edoardo Caovilla, the company’s chief operating officer and creative director, wants to make sure that tradition is linked to a vibrant vision for the future.
A tour of the factory, located in a small hamlet halfway between Venice and Padua, demonstrates how the third-generation executive combines manual skills with digital know-how and modern technology. As Mr. Caovilla stated, “An artisan who molds a shoe must have a lot of gray hair because they must have that specific sensitivity on each minute aspect of the creation.” The soft-spoken 38-year-old is aware that the family business’s talented artisans are a major factor in its success. The brand is known for its famous and ultrafeminine Swarovski-decorated shoes, which celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift have been spotted wearing.
According to Edoardo Caovilla, the company is the second-oldest luxury footwear brand in the world, behind Salvatore Ferragamo. It is also the sixth-oldest luxury brand overall. It is frequently said the brand is denoted as romantic, mystical, vibrant, and eclectic.
The brand loved by the famous singer Rihanna, Amina Muaddi, a Jordanian-born designer with a home base in Paris, is our third choice and has long been one of our favorite influencers to keep an eye on during fashion week as well. Muaddi consistently strikes a mix between playfulness and a feeling of drama and sophistication. She is frequently observed with the equally seductive design team behind The Attico, Gilda Ambrosio, and Giorgia Tordini. It’s therefore not surprising that her shoe line is becoming more and more well-known among fashionistas, thanks to her very opulent-looking life and the people she’s met along the way.
Muaddi has been active in the fashion industry for some time, but she only launched her own shoe line a few years ago. Muaddi has always been inspired by her childhood in Italy to pursue a career in shoe design, but she first sought out a job in publishing, which provides a vital network for any aspiring designer. She studied at the European Institute of Design and worked as a stylist at L’Uomo Vogue and GQ to make sure she was familiar with the industry before pursuing her goal to the fullest.
For our fourth pick, we introduce you to an Italian shoe company named Paris Texas, that debuted in 2015. As suggested by the name, the essence of it is based on the concept of contrasts that breathes through every aspect. This is seen in sophisticated designs made of striking materials. The creations evolve around the user’s freedom and expression of themselves through adaptable designs that are presented in a wide variety of colors. Playing off the notion of modernizing the common practice of separating the work- and leisure wardrobe, designs can be paired with ripped jeans for an updated look as well as an evening dress to emphasize edge. Their stiletto boots are a must-have for a night out.
We definitely agree on the fact that simply said, Mach & Mach, is the go-to brand for party shoes right now. The company was founded in 2012 by sisters Nina and Gvantsa Macharashvili, and since then it has steadily grown to become a favorite. Following a maiden appearance at Paris Fashion Week in 2020, appearances in the closets of famous people like Solange and Kim Kardashian, and recognition from some of the industry’s major outlets, including a pop-up at the recently opened Nordstrom NYC flagship store. (Supermodel Joan Smalls, sporting the brand’s gilded footwear, celebrated this.)
It’s more than obvious that a modern-day Cinderella would absolutely adore theses selected brands by Chic Icon. Each has a distinct and noticeable aesthetic, and all of them are easy to style with an iconic look. We dare you to create your next favorite look with one of these shoe brands.
