Monaco is the principality of endless wealth, luxury, and fine dining. Most think of Monaco as home to jaw-dropping yachts and sports cars but you must not overlook the plethora of extravagant yet delicious gourmet spots. We at Chic Icon have compiled a list of the best restaurants of Monaco from the ultra chic and luxurious to the best in innovation and quality.
The Louis XV – Alain Ducasse at the Hotel de Paris
This list wouldn’t be complete without the Alain Ducasse at the Hotel de Paris. There is a reason it is considered the most prestigious restaurant in Monaco. This restaurant boasts Michelin stars, consistent celebrity attendances, and a menu that is unfathomable. Chef Emmanuel Pilon is the brain behind this establishment as Deputy Chef and he puts his incredible knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine and brings his experience, rigor, and sensitivity to his dishes.
The menu is centered around vigorous juices, intense broths, and fresh condiments with the utmost pinpoint accuracy and calculated presentations. Choose whether you want to indulge in the Riviera breakfasts where Chef Pilon honors the products and colors of the Zriverie or take your shot at scoring a reservation for dinner between their times of 7:30-9:15.
To be known as one of the most prestigious establishments in Monaco is a feat in itself, but one truly cannot gauge the true masterfulness without genuinely sitting down and experiencing the magic.

Cipriani Monte Carlo
Cipriani Monte Carlo resides in the center of the Monaco Principality at the very bottom of the Mirabeau building. This world-known classy and elegant Italian restaurant is equipped with a warm and refined interior with slick mahogany walls, polished steel, mirrors, and prestigious marble floors. One may say it reflects the feeling of dining on a luxury super yacht. Opened in 2010, Cipriani Monte Carlo is one of the whole Cote d’Azur’ most loved destinations for an elevated lunch and dinner experience. The walls of the restaurant are decorated with photographs by renowned art photographer Vanessa Von Zitzewitz.
Now the food! The menu is carefully selected and features all the celebrated signature dishes that have made the Cipriani brand as famous as it is. The menu changes daily but one of our ever favorites are the Vitello Tonnato, Tagliatelle with Black Truffle, Langoustine Tartare, and the iconic Vanilla Meringue Cake.
The second floor features a cosy and welcoming space with flowered terrace, perfect for a private party. This is a must-stop if you want to treat yourself to a glamourous lunch or dinner in the heart of Monaco!

Twiga Monte Carlo
The iconic Twiga is a sophisticated yet playful multi-dimensional establishment located in wondrous Monte Carlo. When I say it has it all, it has it all. The brand-new interior is a mix of refined African, new Asian and Italian influences artfully combined into an exciting and harmonious whole. First is the restaurant, a world of flavors centered around Italian and New-Asian recipes and themes.
From their a la carte menu choose between their famous signature dishes: Red King Prawns Gnocchetti and Lobster Catalana; Beef Tacos and Spicy Galbi Ribs Baos; Pluma Iberico cooked on the Josper Oven and Chicken Skewers on the Robata Grill, and the Sushi Plateau. Each dish is carefully crafted to express the rich cultures and cooking techniques.
The surprise doesn’t stop there, Twiga is also a cocktail bar and after dinner it turns into a club to dance at the rhythm of its regular performers and special guests, such us Afrojack (Sunday, August 14th) and Jamies Jones (Saturday, August 20th). You’ll find your heart in sync with the drum of the base as you experience the eclectic surroundings. Pair the night at the club or post dinner with one of Twiga’s selection of cocktails.
At Twiga the possibilities are endless as you escape into the mysterious and grandeur night of Monte Carlo. Twiga is part of Majestas, the leading curator of luxury dining and entertainment experiences, led by F1 legend and entrepreneur Flavio Briatore.

Èquivoque
Èquivoque is a new luxury rooftop bar located at the Hotel Miramar where it sits on the exclusive terrace with an elegant outdoor bar and luxury design overlooking the Marina of Monte Carlo. This establishment offers a world-class selection of craft cocktails, hookahs, and a menu to pair them, mostly local fresh seafood.
It takes the name from the fact that often people do not listen to the end, because they are caught up in the speed of time, cell phones, work, and stress, and this often leads to misunderstandings. Inside is a panoramic lounge, with a selection of niche cocktails and the atmosphere of a high-end boutique hotel, which you are in!
If you have the opportunity to enjoy a cocktail here, consider yourself lucky! They are also known for being the first bar in the world that offers cocktails based on smell and your palette! Instead of a regular menu, you are offered to smell a few scents on which base the cocktail will be made. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this.
Open Tuesday – Thursday 16:00 – 23:30, Friday – Saturday 17:00 – 00:00, Closed Sunday & Monday.

La Pêcherie U Luvassu
4 generations of Monegasque fishermen and counting! This is different from the others on our list but nonetheless just as amazing. This is our favorite local fish & seafood restaurant located on the quay of Port Hercule in Monaco.
Take the chance to go on-site tasting for lunch or dinner for their serving and see how it has made a name for itself. It’s quite modest, with extreme freshness and quality that is guaranteed. Their menu features a diverse and dynamic assortment of water-bodied delights. From fresh raw oysters & langoustines to cooked local seabass and mouth-watering french caviar. You really can’t go wrong.
They are known for their friendly service and food that is so fresh you can’t resist. This is a different experience that you must take the time to experience. It is truly the best seafood quality you can find in Monaco.
