The Huayra R is an amazing new masterpiece by Pagani. The company’s engineers have shown their highest professional level by introducing modern technologies in aerodynamics and the creation of a new light and powerful engine. The Huayra R is an aesthetic and style assembled into an incredibly sophisticated and technologically advanced machine. This car is inspired by the Le Mans cars of the 1960s and 1970s, the emotions brought out by fast and dynamic cars of that time.
The Huayra R was created to excite the wild, unmanageable natural instinct when the gas pedal is pressed to the maximum when the speedometer needle takes off like a fighter jet on the dashboard, forcing this car to accelerate.
The story that started it all
At the end of 2000, a new project appeared at Pagani, and the company’s engineers were puzzled with creating the company’s first track car, which had to include all the best technologies of the time. Of course, it had to combine the beauty and attention to details which the company is famous for. The result was the Zonda R. And now, almost twenty years later, Pagani has presented an ideological continuation of this concept. “The Huayra R, like the Zonda R, is the freest, most extreme, and performance-oriented Pagani car of all time,” says Horacio Pagani.
The Heart of Pagani Huayra R
The heart of any car is its engine, and Pagani Huayra R has a 12 cylinder 6 liter naturally aspirated racing engine. It was developed from the ground up in collaboration with HWA AG specifically for the task of equipping the new supercar with the lightest and most powerful engine. The latest technologies in the world of racing have allowed the company to create a motor that produces 850 hp and 750 Nm, complemented by an injection system that provides maximum efficiency in thermodynamics and autonomy. People who want to enjoy maximum efficiency even at 9,000 rpm will get the enormous experience driving the car. It was achieved not so much due to the power of the engine itself but due to its low weight. The total weight of the engine is only 198 kg. It is very efficient and easy to operate, gives its owner many years of successful possession, provided by service every 10,000 km.
Aerodynamic features
Another detail giving this car great power is its aerodynamics because each line of the Pagani Huayra R is designed to create maximum aerodynamic load. The goal was to achieve 1000 kg of downforce at a speed of 320 km/h and ground clearance that together would support maximum aerodynamic performance and predictable behavior under all conditions. And they did it almost immediately. The first tests showed greater stability and balance in line with the set target of 46%-54% downforce distribution throughout the entire speed envelope. But they continued to work further, and it appeared that when designers change the shape of the car, the aerodynamics improves. They installed two new air intakes to cool the brakes, and the outgoing airflow was directed towards the car allowing maximum downforce to be achieved.
