How the Panthère looks so alive?
From design and stone choice to paving and setting, every act contributes to the same objective: to recreate the living spirit of the animal. Cartier’s uniqueness lies in the overall effect of its savoir-faire and techniques and its ability to unite rare crafts, preserving them in a constant search for innovation.
The vitality of the Panthère by Cartier stems from a close collaboration between the design studios and workshops. Their exchanges are constant throughout the entire development process: together, they defy the notions of movement, beauty, sides, ergonomics, volume, and architecture, of realism and elegance.
Fur setting
For the Panthère by Cartier, Cartier’s artisans use the technique of “fur” setting, a unique Cartier savoir-faire. One by one, the animal spots, in sapphire or onyx, are uniquely hand-carved. The jeweller surrounds them with grains of metal which he folds into tiny threads on the stone. The fur is amazingly lifelike, the material awakens and provokes emotion.
