In the evolving landscape of electric luxury, standing out requires more than cutting-edge technology. It demands a distinctive point of view. With the forthcoming BMW iX4, the German brand brings a more expressive dimension to its Neue Klasse vision, combining the athletic stance of an SUV with the fluid silhouette of a coupé.
Unmistakably BMW yet designed for a new electric era, the iX4 embraces a philosophy of reduction without sacrificing presence. Its long wheelbase, short overhangs and sweeping roofline create a purposeful profile, balancing elegance with the visual tension expected of a performance-oriented vehicle. The result is an SUV coupé that feels less like a conventional evolution and more like a statement of intent.

At the front, BMW’s iconic kidney grille and twin headlights merge into a single graphic composition, transforming familiar design signatures into an integrated interplay of geometry and light. At the rear, sharply defined surfaces, slim horizontal taillights and a sculpted spoiler establish a bolder identity. The flagship M60 xDrive takes this visual drama further, with distinctive M design elements and racing-inspired yellow lights that sharpen its sporting character.
Performance remains central to the proposition. The range-topping BMW iX4 M60 xDrive pairs electric motors on both axles to deliver a provisional 612 horsepower and 875 Nm of torque. These figures position the flagship as a compelling expression of BMW’s performance heritage translated into an all-electric format. Final efficiency and driving-range figures, however, have yet to be confirmed.

The sporting aesthetic extends to the standard specification. Every iX4 comes with the M Sport package, including 20-inch M light-alloy wheels and M Sport brakes with blue callipers. The M60 xDrive receives 21-inch wheels as standard, while selected variants can be configured with wheels measuring up to 22 inches.
Two powertrain variants are scheduled to arrive at launch in March 2027, with the M60 xDrive following shortly afterwards.
The BMW iX4 represents a compelling intersection of design, technology and performance. Rather than treating electrification as a departure from its sporting identity, BMW uses it as an opportunity to refine that identity for a new generation—one that expects its vehicles to be as expressive as they are technologically advanced.
