For many travelers, Botswana is all about the thrill of the safari. Yet some of the most memorable moments happen in between—the quiet pauses that allow you to absorb everything you’ve seen and experienced. Grays Eden, located on the banks of the Thamalakane River in Maun, is precisely that kind of place. Just 10–15 minutes from Maun Airport, it provides a seamless transition into or out of Botswana’s wilderness while offering a level of comfort and tranquility that feels worlds away from travel schedules and airport transfers.

Set within beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking the river, the property immediately creates a sense of calm. The atmosphere is peaceful, intimate, and refreshingly unhurried—making it an ideal destination for overcoming jet lag before a safari or decompressing after several days of early-morning game drives and wildlife adventures.

During my stay, I checked into one of the villas, and space was one of the first things that stood out. Thoughtfully designed and exceptionally spacious, the villa featured elegant interiors, abundant natural light, and a large private terrace overlooking the river. It quickly became my favorite place to unwind, whether enjoying a quiet morning coffee or simply taking in the peaceful sunset views.

The culinary experience is another highlight. Breakfast combines both buffet and à la carte options, allowing guests to enjoy everything from a light start to a leisurely morning feast. The Eden Kitchen restaurant also offers an inviting setting for lunch, dinner, or sunset cocktails.

For those seeking additional relaxation, the property also features a spa and a beautiful pool. Yet the true luxury of Grays Eden lies in its serenity. More than just a stopover, it is a sanctuary—a place to slow down, recharge, and savor a gentler side of Botswana before the next chapter of the journey begins.
