At this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, ETRO Home Interiors offered more than a furniture showcase—it unveiled a fully immersive expression of its design philosophy. The Etro Ornamenta, a new collection that elegantly bridges heritage and modernity, reaffirms the brand’s ability to translate fashion-led storytelling into sophisticated interior living.
Conceived as a layered residential experience, the exhibition space unfolded through curated living areas, a dining room, a home office, and a bedroom, each revealing a distinct chapter of ETRO’s evolving aesthetic language. The result was less a traditional stand and more a refined private residence—one where craftsmanship, ornamentation, and emotional design converged.
At the heart of Etro Ornamenta lies a contemporary reinterpretation of Art Deco, approached through ETRO Home signature eclecticism. Geometric rigor meets fluid sensuality, while decorative motifs move beyond embellishment to become structural elements of the design itself. Floral forms soften angular silhouettes, and maximalist detailing is tempered by disciplined composition, creating interiors that feel both opulent and architecturally restrained.
Among the standout introductions, the Caresse line captured particular attention for its nostalgic sophistication. Inspired by retro elegance, the collection revisits the capitonné technique through deeply quilted upholstery that envelops sofas, armchairs, and dormeuses in tactile softness. Richly dimensional yet understated, the pieces evoke a quiet grandeur synonymous with couture craftsmanship.
Equally compelling, the Opus line refined the same upholstered language through cleaner contemporary volumes. Defined by bolster-inspired armrests and braided piping, the silhouettes carried subtle movement and decorative refinement without sacrificing modern clarity.
Materiality played a central role throughout the collection. Rare woods, polished stone, sculptural metals, and marble surfaces introduced a layered richness, while floral patterns, stripes, and chromatic contrasts injected ETRO’s unmistakable expressive identity. The interplay between texture and tone created spaces that felt deeply narrative—interiors designed not merely to furnish, but to evoke emotion.
Perhaps most striking was Samarcanda Duo, an evolution of the maison’s existing Samarcanda line. Its redesigned tables and desk paired two distinct marbles with exceptional tonal precision, transforming surfaces into almost painterly compositions of texture and color.
In the bedroom setting, the sculptural Vantus dressing table stood out for its teardrop silhouette, subtly referencing ETRO’s iconic Paisley motif. Finished in marble or wood veneer, its rotating circular drawers—lined with signature ETRO fabrics—introduced a tactile intimacy rarely found in statement furniture.
With Etro Ornamenta, ETRO Home Interiors successfully transforms Art Deco nostalgia into a contemporary language of luxury—where storytelling, artistry, and craftsmanship remain inseparable.
