In Chic Icon we believe that art is one of the most sophisticated forms of luxury, so we decided to give you inspiration from the young artist Ksenia Nufseee from Russia. We are thrilled to share our intimate conversation with a painter whose work is full of pure beauty and emotions.
When did your journey as a painter begin?
Ksenia Nufseee: I started painting at the age of 3, and it remains one of my earliest conscious memories. I became totally addicted to it.
When did you realize that you want to be a professional painter?
Ksenia Nufseee: At the age of 14 or 15, I realized my desire to be a professional painter. Even then, I was already working part-time, creating portraits. I was the youngest artist in my small town who was commissioned for my works. However, when I sold my very first painting, a captivating Venetian landscape in oils, I completely realized my dreams of becoming a professional artist.
Tell us about your professional path.
Ksenia Nufseee: I have been painting for 10-12 years (I don’t count long breaks and periods of self-discovery). These years include creating portraits, customizing clothes, selling my paintings, and exploring digital art. Since 2021, I have also been selling paintings in the form of NFTs.
Tell us more about your digital art and NFTs.
Ksenia Nufseee: It is a crucial part of my career. It is perfect for me to create my compositions and sell them in electronic format. NFT is a platform to sell virtually anything, including my art.
What inspires you?
Ksenia Nufseee: The sources are endless. I draw from the world around me, both visible and invisible, as well as sensations and emotions.
Which is your favorite painting?
Ksenia Nufseee: It is impossible to answer this question, as each artwork holds its own unique meaning. Instead, I can easily name my favorite artists who have influenced my style: Alphonse Mucha, Klimt, and Salvador Dali.
What is the underlying idea behind your art?
Ksenia Nufseee: It has definitely evolved over time. Nowadays, I desire to attract a person’s attention and evoke their feelings and sensations, rather than trying to convey a specific conclusion. I encourage viewers to discover their individual responses, feel the energy of the painting and find their own answers. Currently, I’m working on a collection “Dialogue with the Unconscious,” where I discard a mental approach.
How do you describe your style?
Ksenia Nufseee: I am currently drawn to abstract art infused with symbolic elements.
How does every painting get born?
Ksenia Nufseee: In its unique way. Often, inspiration strikes like a flash, with a vivid image in my mind and a strong feeling. I start the creative process with a deep connection to my emotions and intentions.
Give us professional advice. How can we choose the right painting for the interior?
Ksenia: I believe having an eye for aesthetics and harmony between the elements is crucial. I cannot give any strict guidelines, but the color combinations of both the artwork and the overall design should be in harmony.
What is the tendency in interior painting nowadays?
Ksenia Nufseee: Definitely, Abstraction. It allows viewers to easily connect with the artwork.

Ksenia: I rely on my sensations rather than mental analysis. It’s about trusting the subconscious, as the soul holds a deeper knowledge than the conscious mind.
