A brand-new creative space called “Markofken Art Space” opens on March 16 in Dubai’s JLT business district. This unique space is home to a permanent exhibition of contemporary art, a creative workshop, show performances, and an NFT gallery.
What sets this creative space apart is that it not only exhibits artworks but also creates it. A special workshop at “Markofken Art Space” allows visitors to witness the creative process behind works of art created using the Spin Art technique. This contemporary art form involves spraying paint onto canvas using a range of devices such as pendulums, spinners, and rotating or swinging objects.
Spin Art was originally developed in the mid-20th century as a way to introduce children to art. It has since become a popular art form, with one of the world’s richest artists, Damien Hirst, known to use this technique. Sergey Markofken, the founder of “Markofken Art Space,” is one of the most successful artists working with the Spin Art technique. Sergey Markofken has previously showcased his work at numerous international art exhibitions, including World Art, Dubai and World Expo 2020 Dubai.
To celebrate the official opening of “Markofken Art Space,” a preview of the artist’s new exhibition, titled “The Majority does not exist,” will be held on March 16. This preview will also feature an art performance by Sergey Markofken demonstrating the Spin Art technique, and the artwork he creates will be auctioned off to support the Rotary Charity Club. Rotary International is one of the largest service organizations in the world. Its stated mission is to “provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders”.

The opening program will also include a joint performance with the ChikoLoko project, in which Sergey Markofken will use his unique technique to color a collectible figure. This performance will result in an NFT collection, which will be offered to guests along with the physical collectible figure as part of the charity auction.
The auction will also feature works by famous contemporary artists introduced by the Alexandra Gallery and will be conducted with the support of Person’s auction house. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Rotary Charity Club to support earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

“Markofken Art Space” is a truly unique creative space that not only showcases contemporary art but also allows visitors to witness the creative process behind it. The opening program promises to be an exciting event with stunning art performances and a charity auction that supports a worthy cause.
The opening of the “Markofken Art Space” creative space will take place on March 16, 2023, at 19.00 by the address: Dubai, JLT, Cluster N, the Dome Tower, office 2407.
