Some of the reasons people like to travel is to relax, learn history from new places and try a different gastronomy… However, others travel to feel the adrenaline that extreme sports give. There are several countries around the globe that offer different extreme sports attractions such as skydiving, surfing, canyoning, skiing and rafting, but no matter which one you choose, it will always be an amazing experience to enjoy freedom.

In the travel industry, extreme tourism is a niche not everyone dares to experiment, even though the moment you try it you fall in love with the experience. For this kind of tourism there are required specific places, actually, threatening places like mountains, rapid rivers, canyons, caves and even the air! For this reason, it is mandatory to hire an experienced staff to host those activities in order to keep people safe.

Other things make extreme sports worthy are those landscapes and views. Normally, extreme sports are practiced in areas surrounded by nature, high places like mountains where you can watch beautiful landscapes, the ocean or maybe the jungle where you can experience a different connection with nature. There are a few countries you should visit if willing to try extreme sports, this is the list of the top extreme sports destinations.

New Zealand

If you are looking for adrenaline and excitement, pack your bags and buy a ticket to New Zealand! This place is the land for extreme sports adventures in different scenarios: the snow, the air and the river, there are some worth mentioning.

Bungee jumping is popular over there, for this sport you should definitely go to Nevis Canyon, the biggest in New Zealand, where the platform is three times the Statue of Liberty, suspended in the air by wires, which is very scary, yet very beautiful when looking down. If you go there, make sure to ride a 4×4 vehicle.

Furthermore, one of the most challenging extreme sports is caving, and New Zealand is the best place for that, this island has one of the best caving systems. Waitomo is a town located in the north side of the country, known for its long underground caves lightened by glow-worms; these caves can be explored on a boat but also abseiling, which is a really hard but worthy experience.

There are other extreme sports in this country, such as skydiving and skiing, and surely, every experience will be full of freedom.

UAE

Duba, UAE is one of the most popular destinations in the world, not only for how futuristic the city is but for all the attractions it has, including extreme sports that bring a sparkle for every tourist that wants to experience something different.

Sky Diving is one of the most popular extreme sports in Dubai, challenge yourself jumping 13,000 feet in the air at 200 km per hour. SkyDive Dubai is a trustworthy company to try this adventure, it operates in two different locations outside the city, one of those is premium. The ride includes pictures and videos from the experience, and for those who like it too much, can join sky diving classes.

Another famous experience in Dubai is sandboarding, enjoyed by those that get too scared of risk. Dubai is located in the desert, that is why the activity became so popular, and there are many dunes to enjoy the sport, even though the best is Liwa Oasis because it is 300 meters tall. Liwa Adventure Tours & Safari is an option to book tickets; we recommend buying a package that includes a day of exploring the desert.

Brazil

South America is the land for adventure seekers. Brazil is full of extreme sports adventures, and surfing is one of the most popular over there.

This country has good beaches for the sport because they have big waves. The best part is that there are so many open beaches. For instance, in South Brazil you can find Parana, which is the beach for most championships and Santa Clarita if you want a more private spot, with a beautiful landscape with waves larger than 3 meters. On the North side The Maresias is the most popular and crowded beach to surf, however The Tombo beach is less crowded and has crystalline water, you will not want to leave!

In addition, Fernando de Noronha Island is good to catch waves but also for scuba diving. This island is located in the north side of the country, and it is full of reefs and beautiful spots to explore underwater.

Austria

Innsbruck is a city located in Austria, a country in the Alps and besides the beautiful landscapes it has different attractions for people seeking for adventures.

Rafting in Otztal Rive is an experience for the ones that dare to paddle like there is no tomorrow for three hours, this rapid river is difficult to handle and even the calmest part of it has strong waters. Area 47 is a park with extreme water attractions such as canyoning and rafting in the Otzta. If you are willing to experience hardcore rafting, go there and enjoy.

Canada

If you are daring to find extreme adventures in the snow, it is time to visit Whistler in Vancouver, Canada, where the largest ski center in North America, Whistler Blackcomb is located.

This place has the most attractive terrain for its big mountains and stunning views to the Pacific Ocean; it is great for a first experience skiing due to the facilities the place offer. The best part is that Whistler Backcomb and Vail Resorts group merge, making the largest snow sports area in North America, with the best ski resort, only two hours away from Vancouver, therefore you can go to ski and return to the city or stay in the resort and enjoy the amenities after a day full of adrenaline.
