The Koenigsegg Gemera has been manufactured as one of the most exotic Swedish cars in the world and was unveiled on the 3rd of March, 2020. It is the first four seater car manufactured by Koenigsegg and is the first car in the world to be powered by a compact engine. The Koenigsegg Gemera has been designed by Christian Von Koenigsegg, who is also the Founder and CEO of Koenigsegg Automotive AB, and Sasha Selipanov, who is the Head of Design at Koenigsegg; and has got only 300 units produced, making it no less than a limited edition supercar.

The Koenigsegg Gemera is unique in every regard, especially for the fact that it is a PHEV Grand Tourer, meaning that it is a Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle whose battery can be recharged by plugging it into an external source of electric power, and also by its own broad engine and generator. Moreover, it has been designed for long distance and high speed driving due to a perfectly blended combination of performance and luxury attributes. Furthermore, the Koenigsegg Gemera has the body style of a 2 door 2+2 coupe, resulting in it having two small rear seats for occasional usage and two front seats for the driver and front passenger.

Along with its sloping rear roofline, what adds on to its beauty are its Dihedral Synchro Helix doors, which have a hinge mechanism that makes it possible for the doors to rotate 90 degrees by sweeping outwards and upwards at the hinge. Furthermore, what remains as the most striking feature of the car is its top speed of 400 km/h when driven on the regular mode, and 300 km/h when driven on the electric mode. The Koenigsegg Gemera can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in only 1.9 seconds, which has been made possible by a powerful 2.0 L Koenigsegg TFG twin turbocharged free-valve inline-3 engine. This muscular engine is the kind in which the intake of fuel/air mixture is compressed by turbochargers, and makes use of electromagnetic actuators in its poppet valves instead of conventional cams.

An added advantage of having an engine as strongly built as this one is the massive power output it is capable of producing; in the case of the Koenigsegg Gemera, the power output produced is a mammoth 1700 hp (1268kW). Moreover, the car has been equipped with as many as 3 electric motors, two of them placed on the rear wheels, and one of them placed on the crankshaft, which convert the electrical energy into mechanical energy. Lastly, the gear transmission system used in the Koenigsegg Gemera is an automatic transmission system that can change seamlessly through a continuous range of gear ratios, made possible by the Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Overall, the Koenigsegg Gemera is the car you need if you are looking for a sports car that accommodate your family, while being offered high speed, comfortable long drives, unmatched performance, and an overall experience of luxurious driving.
