Exceptional design and luxury can be found in many destinations. What is far harder to find is a place that allows you to truly disconnect and be present. Ada Capra offered exactly that, and it is what made my stay so memorable.

My journey began at Dalaman Airport, where I was greeted by the hotel’s team and escorted to a comfortable luxury vehicle waiting outside the terminal. The drive to the coast took approximately two hours, but it never felt long. The roads wound through beautiful landscapes of pine-covered hills and sleepy coastal villages, while the spacious vehicle allowed me to answer emails, catch up on work, and even close my eyes for a short nap along the way.

What I didn’t realize at the time was that the drive was only the first chapter of the arrival experience.

Unlike most hotels, Ada Capra can’t be reached by road. It is accessible exclusively by boat, hidden within one of the most secluded corners of Marmaris’ spectacular Hisarönü Bay. That final boat journey transforms the arrival into something far more memorable than a simple hotel transfer.

As we left the mainland behind, the atmosphere changed almost immediately.

The water became impossibly clear. Pine forests stretched all the way to the shoreline. The noise of the outside world disappeared. Within minutes, I felt myself slowing down.

And then Ada Capra appeared.

Nestled within a protected bay, surrounded by lush greenery, the property blends almost seamlessly into its natural surroundings. My first impression wasn’t one of luxury, although there was certainly luxury present. It was a feeling of tranquility. A sense of calm. A quiet energy that is increasingly difficult to find in modern travel.

I have visited countless hotels around the world, but very few places create such an immediate feeling of peace.

The beauty of Ada Capra lies not only in its location but also in its relationship with nature. The property is home to an extraordinary collection of plants gathered from around the world. During my stay, I learned that many species had been brought here from places as diverse as New Zealand, Costa Rica, and other distant corners of the globe.

Walking through the grounds feels like exploring a living botanical garden. It is recognized with Level II ArbNet Accreditation and included in the prestigious Morton Register of Arboreta—one of the world’s leading networks dedicated to exceptional tree collections.

Towering palms stand alongside sculptural agaves. Exotic plants intermingle with native Mediterranean vegetation. Flowers bloom in unexpected corners. Every pathway reveals another carefully cultivated garden, another hidden view, another reminder that this is a place created with patience rather than speed.

The landscaping is not merely decorative—it defines the character of the property.

At times, I felt as though I had wandered into a private paradise garden hidden somewhere between the sea and the forest.

Part of what makes Ada Capra so special is its intimate scale.

The property consists of only nine guest houses, creating a level of privacy that larger resorts simply cannot replicate. There are no crowds. No competition for sunbeds. No noisy breakfast buffets. Instead, there is space, silence, and the luxury of feeling as though you have discovered a secret that few others know exists.

What impressed me even more was the atmosphere after sunset.

Unlike traditional resorts, the staff do not stay overnight on the property. While every security measure is in place and guests feel completely safe, the result is a remarkable sense of exclusivity. Once the night arrives, the bay becomes even quieter. The stars appear brighter. The sounds of nature become more noticeable. It feels less like staying in a hotel and more like inhabiting your own private corner of the Turkish coast.

My guest house was charming and beautifully integrated into the surrounding gardens. Most accommodations enjoy sea views, and mine offered the perfect balance between comfort and simplicity. The design encouraged me to spend less time indoors and more time immersed in the beauty outside.

One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the restaurant.

In fact, I quickly discovered that some visitors arrive by boat solely to dine here, even if they are not staying at the hotel. After the first night at Ada Capra, I completely understood why.

The culinary experience was exceptional throughout my stay. Fresh seafood arrived daily. Traditional Turkish dishes were prepared with remarkable attention to detail. Every meal felt honest, flavorful, and deeply connected to the region.

Whether it was freshly caught fish, vibrant Mediterranean salads, or beautifully prepared local specialties, every meal became one of the day’s highlights.

Even if you are not planning an overnight stay, I would strongly recommend visiting Ada Capra for lunch or dinner. The restaurant alone is worth the journey.

One of my favorite moments each evening was gathering at the property’s sunset point for cocktails. As the sun slowly descended toward the horizon, the bay transformed into a palette of gold, amber, and soft pink. Conversations became quieter. Phones disappeared. Everyone seemed fully present in the moment.

The open-air cinema added another charming touch, offering guests the opportunity to watch films beneath the stars, accompanied by the gentle sounds of the sea.

I stayed at Ada Capra for four nights. By the end of my stay, I found myself completely disconnected from the pace of everyday life. The constant notifications, deadlines, and distractions that normally occupy so much mental space felt very far away.

Leaving was surprisingly difficult. Returning to civilization felt almost unnatural after several days spent in such a peaceful environment.

Ada Capra is not the kind of destination that dazzles with excess. Its luxury is quieter and far more meaningful. It is found in the silence of a protected bay, in gardens gathered from across the world, in exceptional food, in crystal-clear water, and in the rare feeling that, for a few days at least, time has decided to slow down. And in today’s world, that may be the greatest luxury of all.
