Marrakech is a well-known foodie destination with gourmet cuisine sitting alongside the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa market stalls.

Moroccan cuisine, with its incredible blend of spices, sweet-and-savory flavor profile and beautifully textured dishes, has been touted as one of the top food trends to watch for the past year. But once you try its irresistible flavor combinations at the streets of Marrakech, you’ll see quickly why it’s one trend you won’t have to worry about going out of style for years to come.

Marrakech has a plenty of settings to offer. A bunch of rooftop bars are worth the steep flights of steps to be climbed to enjoy delightful treats prepared in the traditional Tajine, as an alternative to the sugar-sweet desserts at the Souk. Whether they’re made with beef, prunes and almonds or veggie style with potatoes, greens and Harissa – the wide range of spices in the most sophisticated compositions are a real treat; always accompanied by Couscous cooked to perfection.

Those who haven’t decided yet whether they want to book a luxury restaurant or a romantic Riad dining, or who are still looking for the best hot spots in terms of country-specific bars, restaurants and coffee shops might get inspired by one of the most popular restaurants of the city – Café Arabe.  You will discover: Marrakech is not just a magical place, it is exactly what Yves Saint Laurent once described it: “the whole world together in one place”. The large bar and restaurant with a view over the Medina attracts with Italian-Moroccan cuisine and spacious sofas.

For food lovers and those who are tired of local food, Café Arabe, reputed as having one of the best Italian tables in town, it is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic dinner or a friends gathering in a vibrant atmosphere of Marrakech. It is a celebration of Italy’s best-loved food and finest ingredients – traditional pizza and pasta, as well as freshly fried seafood, spit-roasted meats and deserts.

At the same time you still can enjoy here a traditional Moroccan food on the cool terrace overlooking the Souks of Medina and the beautiful Koutubia Mosque. It is one of the best-loved cuisines on the planet and is revered for creative flavour combinations, aromatic spices and exotic ingredients. Definitely worth to try!

We highly recommend to try the traditional pigeon b’stilla in Café Arabe. It is one of the highlights of Fassi cuisine (originating from Fez), this flaky pastry pie is stuffed with steaming tender pigeon meat, almonds and eggs and spiced with aromatic saffron, cinnamon and fresh coriander. Traditionally served at weddings and celebrations, it’s recently become a street food staple. The ultimate Moroccan sweet-savoury combination.

From the heady aromas of cinnamon, allspice and ginger emanating from a freshly baked pigeon b’stilla, to pasta dusted with herbs and olive oil, and the richness of smoky, zesty chicken tagine, every mealtime in Café Arabe is an opportunity to enjoy Italian food and to delve a little deeper into the Morocco’s rich cultural heritage, savouring culinary influences from Andalusian Spain, Arabia and France.
