Dubai is preparing to host one of the region’s most interesting cultural and sport highlights — the Grand Cup International Ballroom Dance Championship, held under the auspices of the World Dance Organization (WDO). Taking place at the luxurious 5-star Marriott Hotel, Al Jaddaf in Dubai, the two-day festival will gather more than 300 participants from over 30 countries, showcasing the very best of competitive ballroom dance on an international stage.

This year’s Grand Cup is especially remarkable, as it will host two major championships simultaneously: the WDO World Championship and the Middle East Championship. With over 1,000 spectators expected on-site, a global online reach exceeding 7,000, and a dedicated VIP and brand zone, the event provides an unparalleled platform for both cultural prestige and brand exposure.
The competition is organized by Grand Dance Academy in partnership with SV Dance Academy, under the leadership of Yurii Kurylenko (Chairman), Huang Shija (Organizer), and Anastasiia Kurilenko (Head of International Adjudicators Team). Grand Dance Academy, accredited by the Dubai Sports Council and UNESCO CID, is the UAE’s largest and most advanced professional dance center, and now joins forces with the Marriott Hotel to elevate the championship to new heights.
The World Dance Organization, representing over 60 member countries, is recognized as the global authority in ballroom dance. Its championships set the highest standards in the industry, and the Dubai edition will feature a highly anticipated highlight: the WDO Juniors Solo 10 Dance World Championship nomination.
The festival will also bring moments of inspiration beyond competition. The gala evening will feature a special performance by Viktoria Kharchenko and Pavel Gurov, one of the world’s top 10 professional Latin couples, finalists of the WDO World Championship Latin Professionals, who will also serve on the international adjudicating panel.
