The home of Hotel Grimsborgir… Iceland is an amazingly beautiful land with its own unique face. A European country, which is completely different from any of the countries of the “old” Europe with its crazy crowded streets. Iceland doesn’t look like anything you’ve seen before. It is like another planet. It has a different landscape, another nature, another air, another water, a different way of life…

The Golden Triangle is something you should see when coming for the first time to the country. It will introduce you to a several amazing world-famous historical and natural landmarks of the island of Iceland, which do not leave any traveler indifferent. First we went visit one of the most unusual parts of Iceland – the valley, under which stands the border between two continental plates: European and North American. This unique place filled with incredible energy and stunning scenery is located on the territory of Þingvellir National Park.

Then we visited geothermal area of the Valley of Geysers, which is called as the trademark of Iceland. Here in a relatively small area many large and small hot springs and craters filled with natural boiling water come to the surface. The water in each of them has a different color. Among them are the Strokkur geyser gushing every 7-10 minutes and the famous Big Geyser (Geysir). Every gushing hot spring on Earth is named after it.

We did the next stop in the valley of the glacial river Hvitau (Hvítá) to see the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall, one of the most beautiful in Iceland and definitely on Earth. His power and beauty admire and fascinate. Gullfoss in Icelandic means the “Golden Waterfall”. A column of water dust stands above the gorge, and in sunny weather a beautiful bright rainbow appears. A delightful sight! We took a nice walk to admire the wild power of the waterfall from the upper and lower viewing platforms.

Then overwhelmed with impressions of the contemplation of the wonders of Icelandic nature and a little tired, but very happy we finally headed towards the Hotel Grimsborgir where we decided to stay. Due to its ideal location in the heart of the Golden Circle it is a popular and sought after place to stay for tourists all over the world. The hotel turned out to be a beautiful cozy oasis amidst the harsh Icelandic nature. Hótel Grímsborgir offers luxury accommodation for up to 200 guests in 14 apartments, 44 superior hotel rooms and 6 Junior suites. The interior is warm and very cozy. Also you can relax and warm up in one of the outdoor Jacuzzis while gazing at the endless Nordic sky.

Don’t miss a chance to visit Grímsborgir’s restaurant after a long day full of adventures. It has a wide selection of Icelandic and international dishes, and became quite popular among locals and tourists. Try the famous oven baked salmon or Icelandic lobster. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with the wine list too!

Your Icelandic adventure can’t be even more cozy and comfortable…
