There was a time when the ultimate luxury sedan was defined primarily by what it offered its passengers: acres of space, sumptuous materials and an effortless ride. The new BMW 7 Series suggests that the definition has moved on. Today, true luxury is as much about individuality and intelligent technology as it is about comfort—and BMW’s latest flagship brings all three together with remarkable precision.
Now arriving in Abu Dhabi following its regional debut, the seventh-generation 7 Series introduces the brand’s latest design language to the luxury segment. Its monolithic proportions, illuminated BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille and minimalist crystal headlights give the sedan an unmistakable presence, while restrained surfacing and newly designed rear lights keep the overall aesthetic surprisingly composed.

Inside, the atmosphere is more sophisticated than showy. Leather, wood, crystal glass and metal are combined with a deliberately clean architecture, while the new BMW Panoramic iDrive brings Neue Klasse technology into the flagship sedan. For passengers, the experience can become almost cinematic: the BMW Theatre Screen supports 8K streaming, while the Bowers & Wilkins sound system with Dolby Atmos transforms the rear cabin into a private entertainment space.
But it is BMW Individual that makes the new 7 Series particularly compelling in a market such as Abu Dhabi. Within the dedicated BMW Individual Lounge at Abu Dhabi Motors, clients can work with specialists to create a specification that is genuinely their own—from 130 exterior paint colours and 12 upholstery variants to more than 500 combinations offered through the two-tone paint programme.

The most extraordinary expression of this philosophy is BMW Individual Dual-Finish, a world-first paint concept developed over two and a half years. Its combination of matt and metallic finishes is applied through a painstaking manual process, including a hand-drawn Coachline. More than 20 specially trained employees are involved, and each vehicle requires more than 75 hours in the paint shop.
Beneath the craftsmanship lies equally serious engineering. The 7 Series introduces Neue Klasse technology across multiple powertrain options, including combustion, plug-in hybrid and fully electric variants, with electric models offering more than 720 kilometres of WLTP range.
The result is a flagship that does not choose between being driven and being driven in. It embraces both—while making the strongest case yet that, in modern luxury, the most desirable specification may be the one nobody else has.
